London Layover Lesson – The World is Watching

Today we got into London at 6:45 am. Our flight for Copenhagen didn’t leave until 2pm. So Taylor, Andrew and I decided to go into London for a few hours. At first we couldn’t find anything but a closed merry-go-round and people carting big palettes of food out into Chinese restaurants. But then we completely stumbled into Trafalgar Square and Parliament Square and it became the best layover ever.

Right before we left, we saw a bunch of people wearing all blue and carrying signs about climate change. Apparently they were going to a downtown rally to urge leaders in Copenhagen to act boldly on climate change.  I saw a guy with a “350ppm” flag, so I ran up to him and said we were on our way to the negotiations. He was excited to talk with us. We took a picture, even though you can’t see the flag.

Time to sleep and shower, neither of which I have done for what already feels like weeks!
